Plan & Schedule

Build a home maintenance system that survives busy months

A useful maintenance system is not a giant list. It is a small set of recurring tasks, records and review points that make it easier to notice change and schedule the next action.

Start with the house you actually have

List the major systems, exterior features and recurring obligations that apply to your property rather than copying a universal checklist.

Separate observation from repair

A homeowner can record a stain, unusual sound, damaged seal or service date without diagnosing a cause.

Give every task a trigger

Use a month, season, usage interval, manufacturer schedule or prior inspection date.

Review instead of endlessly adding

A short quarterly review keeps the plan current and prevents duplicate tasks.
